It was several folders with construction drawings, static calculations, fire protection and safety concepts for the new building of the PB Group’s headquarters with a modern production hall that Managing Director Patrick Blessing sent to the town of Schömberg at the end of last year. Thanks to the trusting and very productive cooperation between the city, the client, its technical manager, the Bad Liebenzell architect Markus Beyer, as well as the craftsmen involved, the groundbreaking ceremony for the project could take place in summer 2022.
The site in Schömberg-Langenbrand is being expanded to become the PB Group’s leading production and innovation location. The administration building and production hall are being constructed according to the latest energy technology and ecological standards, which will provide the best framework conditions for employees, customers and suppliers for years to come.
The building project comprises two construction phases: First, a three-storey office building will be built by the end of the year on an area of around 800 sqm, in which the departments of internal sales, human resources, controlling, accounting as well as the management and the laboratory will be located. The new production hall with technical centre and truck scale will be realised with a gross floor area of around 2,000 sqm in the second construction phase by the end of Q1 2023.
The planning and construction work was awarded exclusively to local companies. The civil engineering work is being carried out by the construction company Köhler, based in Wildberg . For rainwater retention, the CARAT XXL 32000 L cistern made of high-quality recycled plastic from Otto Graf – a customer of the PB Group from Teningen for decades – was inserted into the excavation pit. The construction of the hall upstand or retaining walls, the sleeve foundations and the concrete core-activated floor slab for the office building and the production hall is so far ideally on schedule. Currently, the second and third floors of the office building are being knocked out. The carpentry work is being carried out by Müller Holzbau from Simmersfeld. After placing the concrete columns, the delivery of the production hall is expected this week.
“Thanks to the transparent and efficient approach of the construction partners, we have a good overview of the construction schedule and thus achieve very good coordination of the numerous interfaces,” says Patrick Blessing. According to his assessment, material and delivery bottlenecks should not affect the ambitious schedule, as almost all components are prefabricated.
As the largest investment in the company’s history, the new state-of-the-art plant forms a foundation for sustainable, long-term and international growth!
Over the past 20 years, PB Solutions GmbH has developed from a small trading company for secondary raw materials into an internationally active group of companies, some of which are technology leaders in their segment of high-quality plastics recycling.
The construction of the new company headquarters takes this pleasing development into account.
Project update: New construction of the PB Group headquarters fully on schedule
